MATTAWAN, January 16, 2007: Mattawan, Michigan, January 16, 2007 – MPI Research announced the availability of additional toxicology capacity today. Through its portfolio of services the company generates critical safety data for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries prior to a new drug candidate’s introduction to humans.

Completed in December 2006, the $47 million, 270,000 square feet toxicology capacity expansion project included 51 new animal rooms, significant laboratory and office space, and 100,000 square feet of shell space for an additional 80+ animal rooms scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2007. This expansion is the latest in a series of planned expansions which will enable MPI Research to support the growing research and development needs of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide. An $18 million, 44 animal room toxicology expansion project was completed earlier in 2006.
