The First Pamela H. Errico Memorial
Scholarship Award At The Society of
Quality Assurance Annual Meeting |
MPI Research presented Ninette P. Burns,
RQAP-GLP, the first Pamela H. Errico memorial
scholarship award at the Twentieth Annual
Society for Quality Assurance Meeting held
in Reno, Nevada last month. Ms. Burns, a
self-employed QA Consultant, Touchstone Quality
Consulting, received the scholarship in the
amount of $2,000. The Scholarship was presented
by MPI Research President and Chief Operating
Officer, Mr. William Harrison, a past President
of the SQA.
The memorial scholarship was created to honor
Pamela H. Errico, the first consultant to
serve as president of the SQA. Ms. Errico
served as president of SQA from 1989-1990.
Candidates eligible for this scholarship
are self employed independent consultants
who are active members of the SQA. The scholarship
is awarded to help offset the costs incurred
by participating in the SQA Annual Meeting.
In her application essay Ms. Burns commented
about the education, insight and inspiration
she has received from her membership in SQA,
and the training courses she’s participated
in while attending the annual meetings since
1996. Ninette states she was “able
to change the minds of fellow staff members,
helping them to view QA as a value-added
service and “problem-preventer” rather
than an intrusion.”
According to Mr. Harrison, “At MPI
Research we wanted to create a vehicle that
would reinforce the never ending commitment
and support to quality healthcare research
demonstrated by the SQA; something that is
also a critical part of the MPI Research
culture. Pamela Errico lived this commitment
every day and we feel this scholarship is
a fitting tribute to her professionalism.
We are committed to giving our employees
the training required, and creating the optimum
atmosphere here at MPI Research to ensure
that quality is first and foremost in our
employees’ minds; the Society of Quality
Assurance is a key part of this effort. We
are proud to support the SQA’s initiatives
in furthering the education of it’s
members”.
