MPI RESEARCH moves forward to develop the MPI Analytical division!

MPI Research is pleased to announce progress in its MPI Analytical division. Its Implementation Team has been instrumental in recommending equipment purchases, customizing a laboratory, initiating validation programs, detailing analytical operating procedures, establishing method validation report processes, and recruiting to support dose analysis at its Mattawan facility.

In meeting our commitment to this exciting area of development, we recently purchased Sciex API 3000 LC-MS/MS units and all appropriate support systems. Our instrumentation laboratory conditions are state-of-the-art and include the LC-MS/MS, HPLC, and GC systems. Under construction is a newly dedicated and customized analytical laboratory for sample preparation and storage. Systems, procedures, quality control and reporting mechanisms are developed to fully support dose formulation, method validation and other analytical projects. Bioanalytical functions, such as method development, method validation, and bioanalysis, are currently under development.

MPI Analytical has diligently recruited experienced scientists. Beijing Tan, Ph.D. and Wei Song, M.S., who both join us from Ricerca Biosciences; and Timothy Nieuwenhuis, M.S. comes to us from Pharmacia. All bring years of experience to the MPI Analytical team. Their primary focus, in addition to serving as Analytical Chemists, will be as LC-MS/MS specialists in support of method development and validation, and sample analysis projects. Dr. Tan and Mr. Nieuwenhuis will oversee the day-to-day bioanalytical laboratory operations and manage the growing bioanalytical area. Ms. Song will be serving as a LC-MS/MS operator on method validation projects and for sample analysis. She will assist in the development of the bioanalytical capabilities as well. Their combined LC-MS/MS experience strengthens our bioanalytical capabilities and benefits the sponsor’s research programs.

Dr. Chad Wujcik, Associate Director of MPI Analytical, commented, “Our department continues to make significant progress in strengthening our pool of talent, thus providing our sponsors with superior analytical services. These three scientists bring their vast experience and expertise to both the analytical and bioanalytical disciplines. The recruitment of these high-caliber scientists, purchasing state-of-the-art equipment, and the construction of customized laboratory facilities, demonstrates MPI Research’s commitment to developing and growing its analytical capabilities as well as it’s commitment to quality, responsiveness and innovation.”

MPI Research exists to provide comprehensive non-clinical research that meets the requirements of pharmaceutical, medical device, animal health and chemical companies as well as governmental agencies as we partner together to bring safer, healthier products to the world. MPI Research employees specialize in a wide variety of scientific disciplines including toxicology, pharmacology, metabolism, pathology, clinical pathology, reproductive and developmental biology, veterinary science, neuroscience, experimental therapeutics, immunotoxicology, analytical chemistry, computer science, regulatory science, and statistics.
