Michigan’s Governor’s Council awards MPI Research with the Healthy Workplace Silver Award!

MPI Research is honored to announce that on October 21, 2002, they will receive the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports Silver Healthy Workplace Award for the third year. This council awards companies with outstanding health and wellness programs and recognizes companies for initiating these new types of programs for long-term employee wellness and promoting the prevention of chronic diseases. The Council is working to change the behavior of Michiganians to help them become more physically active and in turn, healthier.

MPI Research has teamed up with Borgess CorpFit for the past three years to promote a healthy workplace by providing wellness workshops, walking clubs, and health-related literature for employees including Health Risk Appraisals.

Monica Roon, Director of Human Resources, commented, “MPI Research is committed to pursuing numerous employee wellness programs. During the last three years, we have implemented programs based on employee requests. Program participation levels have increased annually while significantly increasing employee morale and decreasing lost time in the work place.”

MPI Research exists to provide comprehensive non-clinical research that meets the requirements of pharmaceutical, animal health and chemical companies as well as governmental agencies as we partner together to bring safer, healthier products to the world. MPI employees specialize in a wide variety of scientific disciplines including toxicology, pharmacology, metabolism, pathology, clinical pathology, reproductive and developmental biology, veterinary science, neuroscience, analytical chemistry, computer science, regulatory science, and statistics.
