Research Fills Key Leadership Positions

MATTAWAN, August 21,
2007: MPI Research recently announced two high level appointments within the company. Effective August 1, 2007, David Serota, PhD, DABT, was promoted to the position of Vice President, Toxicology and Pathology and will also serve as a member of the company's senior management team. On the same date, Tina Rogers, PhD, DABT, joined the company as the Associate Director of Research. Both appointments further strengthen the leadership position MPI Research has earned within the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry.
In his new capacity, Dr. Serota will oversee
60+ Study Directors and serve as the Senior
Principal Study Director on several critical
ongoing testing programs. With over 31 years
of experience as a toxicologist, Dr. Serota
is a recognized authority. He has previously
served as the Director of Toxicology at Southern
Research Institute and as Director of Laboratory
Operations at Hazleton Laboratories Vienna
(now Covance). Most recently, Dr. Serota
was the Executive Director of Toxicology
and Senior Study Director at MPI Research.
He received his PhD from the University of
Tennessee in toxicology and currently serves
as a Councilor for the American College of
Toxicology. A renowned expert in his field,
Dr. Serota will be speaking about CRO/Sponsor
relationships at the AusBiotech 2007 National
Conference in Australia.

Dr. Rogers brings a unique combination of scientific and business experience
to MPI Research. As the Associate Director of Research, she willlead initiatives
to enhance the Targeted Discovery Research offerings at the company. Biotherapeutics,
including viral and other gene vectors as well as cell therapy, will be an identified
area of focus. She will also concentrate on advancing specialized services and
capabilities in other key areas of the company. With over 15 years of experience
in the CRO industry, she has held key leadership positions, most recently as
Vice President of Drug Development at Southern Research Institute. Dr. Rogers
received her PhD from the Medical University of South Carolina in molecular and
cellular biology and pathobiology, and completed postdoctoral fellowships at
Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine. She currently
serves on the MBA Advisory Board at the Auburn University School of Business
(where she received an MBA) and is a member of the Gerson Lehman Group Healthcare
Council.
