Ali Said Faqi, a well-known and eminent
scientist. |
MPI Research is pleased to announce the
addition of Ali Said Faqi, DVM, Ph.D., D.A.B.T
to our scientific staff as Director of Developmental
and Reproductive Toxicology. Dr. Faqi recently
came to MPI Research from Allergan, Inc.,
where he was responsible for monitoring internal
and outsourced toxicology studies, and for
the preparation of regulatory documents for
submission to worldwide agencies in compliance
with ICH, FDA, CPMP and other guidelines.
Prior to joining Allergan, Dr. Faqi served
as Head of Developmental/Reproductive and
Neurotoxicology at IIT Research Institute
in Chicago, IL. Dr. Faqi received his DVM
from the Somali National University in 1982
and then went on to receive his Diploma of
Specialization in Experimental Pharmacology
from the University of Milan-Italy in 1986.
Dr. Faqi attended the University of Leipzig
in Germany where he earned his Doctorate
of Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology
in 1995, and received his DABT certification
in 2002. Dr. Faqi has over 55 publications
and abstracts to his credit in the areas
of reproductive, developmental toxicology
and fertility assessment.
At MPI Research, Dr. Faqi will be responsible
for the overall developmental and reproductive
toxicology area, including expanding the
number of sponsors conducting such studies
at MPI Research and working with these sponsors
on the design and execution of these studies
in accordance with all ICH, OECD and other
regulatory guidelines. He will lead an existing
team of talented scientists and technical
staff in the conduct of these studies and
he will be responsible for updating procedures,
training, and equipment as both regulations
and technologies change.
Dr. David Serota, Director of Toxicology,

in the academic field as well as in the contract
research and pharmaceutical industries have
prepared him well for this leadership position
